PRIOR TO RECEIVING RUBY
The process was a wonderful experience with the help of Kathy. Kathy assisted me from the time the pups were only days old until the day Ruby shipped out at eight weeks old.

Choosing the puppy that best fit me was a process between myself and Kathy. I am a very active person. I love the outdoors, hiking, hunting, fishing, camping and am a police officer that is involved in Search and Rescue (SAR). Choosing Ruby was not only up to me but what Kathy felt was best for me and my life style and personality. I was looking for specific things in the dog. I was looking for but at the same time understood that Kathy had her best interest in the pups future. After talking with Kathy numerous times a day for almost eight weeks and explaining to her what I was looking to do with the pup and also characteristics I was looking for. Ruby best matched my life style and personality.

My plans for Ruby at the time of the purchase were to train her in SAR and have her as a family pet. With this in the future of Ruby I felt Kathy and GTR were the best breeder to purchase a pup from because of the wealth of knowledge Kathy had with both the breed of dog and SAR K-9.
Kathy has been able to answer every question I have had and though the entire process.

AFTER RECEIVING RUBY
The moment I saw Ruby waiting in her kennel at the airport I knew I had a friend for life! I opened her kennel and she immediatley exited her kennel and started to lick my face while her tail was wagging like crazy, like she has known me forever. This was great news for me to see Ruby acting like this, it meant that Kathy had put in the time to socialize her pups and that they were not timid of stranger which was great for me, one less thing I had to train for in the SAR process I just had to keep up wth the socializing.

I placed a leash on Ruby and walked her to a grassy spot in the parking lot of the airport and she was not scared or nervous about being in the hands of a stranger or being on a leash.

The trip home...
On the two hour drive home, Ruby did not make a peep, kind of scared me, but when I would look at her or talk to her she would perk up and wag her tail.
Ruby is kennel trained and sleeps nightly in a kennel indoors. It seems as if Ruby potty trained quick for her age. To potty train her I began by taking her out on a leash and walking her in a small area of my yard that I wanted her to go potty and gave her the command of "go potty" and we walked in small circles. After a couple of weeks of this she began to go potty on command.
Ruby has been trained to sit, lay, heel, stay, shake hands, fetch a ball and hide and seek for search and rescue. Ruby LOVES her daily training and her favorite toy as a treat. She is focused as we train daily and has a drive to do what is asked of her like I have never seen in a dog before.
Ruby has things that I have seen in other dogs but that have never stood out like this, Ruby's loyality, drive, focus and dedication is amazing and I can not describe it any other way than that. Ruby is exactly what any dog owner would want plus some.
Kathy and GTR was the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I am very greatful for Kathy allowing me to purchase one of her pups that I know was hard for her to part with.
Kathy put a large amount of time into her pups and you can notice this as soon as you watch one of the pups for just a little while.
I would like to thank Kathy for the experience, Ruby and the knowledge she has shared with me.

WATSON
watsonsitting.jpg

Five months ago I had to put down our family dog (ruby) because she had contracted lime disease, Ruby was a mix breed dog and my children adored her. I promises Karlee (8) and Ryan (5) I would find them another family pet and this is how I became friends with Kathy.
I contacted Kathy through her website and she promptly called and we discussed my situation, my desire for a new family pet. She invited a friend and myself over to review her litter and from the time we arrived at her kennel until we left it was a great experience. Kathy showed me two pups based on my family's needs, from the first time I saw "Watson" I knew he was the one for my family.
The ride home was only 45 minutes, Watson never whined or fussed but was very observant. I worked with Watson only a few days, and he was potty trained, this was the first time in my life I ever had a dog that was so easy to train, it was like he knew what I was going to say and do before I opened the door outside.
Watson sleeps in a crate beside my bed, never misses an opportunity to play fetch or tug with the kids, he loves to run and play with them outside. Watson knows sit, down and come. We are currently working on other basic obedience skills.
Watson is currently sharing a kennel with two other male dogs while I work,  from day one fit in perfect with the other two dogs (Kathy was perfect in her personality profile of Watson). She is really passionate about the breed and has an amazing ficility, she is a blessing for the service she provides to the community and the State of Mississippi.
I can't thank you enough Kathy for all your support and time you are truly an amazing person.

Sincerely
Dale Honeycutt
